We continue to work towards recovery of the two impaired Availability Zones (mec1-az2 and mec1-az3) in the ME-CENTRAL-1 Region. We have partially restored access to the AWS Management Console, however, some pages will continue to load unsuccessfully until we have recovered core services and power. In parallel to the power and recovery efforts, we are working to restore access to tools and utilities to allow customers to backup and migrate their data. We have no updated guidance on expected recovery times, and still expect this to take at least a day to fully restore power and connectivity. We continue advising customers enact their disaster recovery plans and recover from remote backups into alternate AWS Regions. We will provide you with another update by 6:00 PM PST, or sooner if new information becomes available.

After a recent browser update from Microsoft, we identified an issue affecting some Windows devices using Microsoft Edge where webpages may load indefinitely. After investigation, we’ve determined that in certain cases the browser extension is not automatically starting, which prevents traffic from being processed as expected. Our Engineering team has been working on this throughout the day and is actively finalizing a fix. We expect to have an updated extension available soon. Once released, the update will be automatically pushed out, no action will be required on your end. We sincerely apologize for the disruption this may have caused and understand how impactful browser performance issues can be in a school environment. Please know this is our top priority, and we are moving as quickly as possible to resolve it fully. Thank you for your patience and for being a valued customer. We truly appreciate your partnership.

Title: Some admins may be unable to access the SharePoint Online admin center User impact: Admins may be unable to access the SharePoint Online admin center. More info: Additionally, the top navigation suite bar (app launcher, search, and settings) doesn't load across SharePoint Online sites for any users. When attempting to access the SharePoint Online admin center, admins may see the following error message: “Sorry, something went wrong.” Technical details of the error may reference an application initialization error. Current status: We've identified a recent service update to the SharePoint Online service infrastructure that we suspect may be causing the impact. While we prepare our configuration change for deployment, we've re-deployed a known healthy version of the SharePoint Online service as a potential remediation action to address the suspected issue with the aforementioned service update. We're testing with a subset of affected users to determine if the redeployment action has had any effect in restoring service functionality. Scope of impact: Some admins or users attempting to access the SharePoint Online admin center or sites may be impacted, and are returned an error message stating “Sorry, something went wrong.” This information may be updated as our investigation continues.
